Election of Academy Vice-Chairs

The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges is pleased to announce Dr Fiona Donald, President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and Mr Mike McKirdy, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow have been elected Vice-Chairs of the Academy.

They will succeed Dr Jeanette Dickson, President of the Royal College of Radiologists and Mr Edward Morris, President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in November 2022.

Professor Dame Helen Stokes-Lampard, Chair of the Academy said,

‘I am absolutely delighted that Fiona and Mike have been selected by members as Vice-Chairs. They both bring a wealth of experience to our team and will be great advocates for medical royal colleges and the wider medical profession – particularly when we are facing so many serious challenges across the health and care landscape.’
