The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges is the umbrella body for the UK and Ireland’s 24 medical royal colleges and faculties, which between them represent doctors from all the medical specialties. This unique constituency places us at the heart of the health and care policy landscape.  We are now looking for someone to fill an exciting new role – Director of Policy and Government Affairs – to help us deliver our policy objectives on behalf of our members.

We are a small but dynamic and respected organisation, and you will be working with a great team of people who are supportive, highly skilled and dedicated to improving the quality of health and care for patients across the UK. It is exciting, fast moving and can be high-pressured, but hugely rewarding.

You will have a strong health policy background with a network of contacts in both Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved administrations. You’ll be used to operating at the most senior levels, with a range of stakeholders such as Government departments, medical regulators and ALBs, and capable of advising our Chair of Council and leaders of the medical royal colleges on detailed healthcare policy and related matters. You will be able to chair high-level meetings and deputise for the Academy’s Chair of Council when necessary.

The Academy is based in a friendly open-plan office in Clerkenwell, London and operates a hybrid and flexible working policy. The post is offered part-time, and we can be flexible subject to affordability.
