Today we launch the Healthcare Professionals’ Consensus Statement on Health and Work. Agreed by the Academy, the Royal College of Nursing and the Allied Health Professions Federation, it marks the collective commitment of Healthcare Professionals’ to the Health and Work agenda.
The notion that ‘good work is good for you’ is well known. It’s almost ten years since this concept was first documented by Sir Michael Marmot in his ground breaking review, Fair Society, Healthy Lives and later built on by a former chair of the Academy, Professor Dame Carol Black in her report, The Health of the Working Age Population. The principle has never been far from the Academy’s agenda.
