Do you consider work as a health outcome? If not, why not?

It is recognised that work, whether paid or unpaid, is good for our health and wellbeing. It contributes to our happiness, helps us to build confidence and self-esteem, and rewards us financially. Because of these benefits, it is important to return to work as soon as possible after an illness or injury.

The Academy and Faculty of Occupational Medicine are hosting a conference on Tuesday 9 April 2019, 9am to 4.30pm, to promote the importance of considering work as a health outcome. You should attend this conference if you want to:

  • Understand the health benefits of good work
  • Learn how to prevent the long-term effects of avoidable health related worklessness
  • Hear examples of where good work has led to health benefits.
