The Academy set up a Remediation Working Group in 2012 to consider the implications for the medical Royal Colleges and Faculties of accepting the recommendations in the Department of Health's 2011 report, 'Remediation Report: Report of the Steering Group on Remediation'. The report recommended that “the medical Royal Colleges should produce guidance and provide assessment and specialist input into remediation programmes”.
