The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges welcomes the publication of the Internal Review of the work of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.
The Academy supports the intention to now see a clear plan to deliver the Inquiry’s objectives.
The Academy held a productive meeting with Professor Alexis Jay, Chair of the Inquiry, in December. Medical Royal Colleges have expressed their wish to engage with the Review and assist in publicising its work amongst clinicians and, most importantly, contribute to devising and implementing systems and procedures in healthcare organisations to ensure that child sexual abuse does not occur again.
The Academy is now working with IICSA to facilitate that engagement and ensure productive working.
