Curriculum
Currently the Academy is developing and revising the following curriculum for postgraduate medical education.
Foundation Curriculum
Through the Academy Foundation Programme Committee, the Academy develops, revises and owns the intellectual property rights of the Foundation Programme Curriculum. The most recent revision took place in 20011/12. Full approval from the GMC was received in December 2012 and it will be in use nationally from August 2012. The 2012 version of the Foundation Programme Curriculum and associated Reference Guide (previously known as the operational framework) are also available on the UK Foundation Programme Committee website. The main changes can be found on the Academy Foundation Programme Committee page and the UKPFO details guidance on how the new curriculum will be implemented.
Specialty and General Practice
The Academy oversees, co-ordinates generic issues and shares best practice relating to the development,submission and approval of speciality and general practice curricula to the GMC through the Academy Specialty Training Committee.

Changes to 2010 specialty curricula
The Colleges and Faculties have undertaken a revision of their specialty curricula which have been approved by PMETB (merged with GMC in April 2010). The main changes to the 2010 specialty curricula are outlined here. For full details please refer to the individual colleges' websites.
Infection Training Curriculum Development
The Academy Infection Training Working Party is developing an Infection curriculum through co-ordinated efforts of the Royal College of Pathologists, Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board and other related specialties.
