UKDEC Work Programme

UKDEC was first established in January 2010. A short consultation exercise with key stakeholders identified a number of common ethical concerns.  From this the UKDEC drew up its first work programme.

UKDEC is constituted to provide general advice and guidance. It cannot provide advice on individual cases in real time - this should be provided locally. However, the questions which UKDEC receives from individual Trusts, ethics committees and other organisations help to shape the guidance we are able to give. The frequency with which certain issues arise simultaneously across the UK, as notified to us helps to establish the need for specific guidance and clarity in particular situations. We therefore welcome all such information.
